Dugan won the trophy dash and had the duty to pin the corsage on Ericka Larson (the trophy girl of the night), then later while running really well with some hard driving competition John Nesmith passed Dugan on the inside and Chris Ratterree tried to follow Nesmith. The next few seconds happened too fast to call but Ratterree did not clear Dugan and the following photo was the result.
Nesmith later picked up the win after he got past Butch Gilliland in the time shortened race.
