Tyler Monroe and Travis Milburn go to Infineon

This weekend veteran Flashco SRL Southwest Tour Series driver, Troy Ermish, will be kicking his racing career up a notch when he travels to Infineon Raceway to compete in the Bennett Lane Winery 200 presented by Supercuts on June 21, 2008. This will be the sixth race in the NASCAR Camping World West Series this season. Ermish will also compete in other races with the West series later in the 2008 season.

The Bennett Lane Winery 200 is scheduled on the same weekend that the Sprint Cup Toyota/Save Mart 350 is held and this should bring lots of opportunities for drivers in the West series to rub elbows with the Cup champions. Sprint Cup final practice will be held just before the start of the West series 64 lap race on the 1.99 mile road course and the 350 mile Sprint Cup race will be held the next day. Some Sprint Cup drivers are expected to race in the NASCAR Camping World West Series race this Saturday and in fact David Gilliland of Sprint Cup fame is the defending champion.

Ermish is a six year veteran of the Flashco SRL Southwest Tour Series and won the first race of the season in the 100 lap race at All American Speedway in Roseville, California earlier this spring. After the first three races Ermish is fourth in series points with his next race in the series scheduled for July 5th at Altamont Motorsports Park in Tracy, California. He also enjoys vintage road racing and holds two track records at Laguna Seca Raceway in Monterey, California.

Meridian Speedway of Meridian, Idaho will be sending two of its young guns to assist Ermish’s team and work in the pits during the race day and also to learn at the feet of a successful veteran driver. Travis Milburn and Tyler Monroe are the lucky, and talented, drivers that Meridian Speedway is sending to Infineon this weekend. Milburn and Monroe compete regularly in the Late Model class at Meridian Speedway. Monroe also drives a Winged Sprint while Milburn does double duty driving a Grand American Modified. This experience with Troy Ermish’s team at Infineon will be part of a mentoring program initiated at Meridian Speedway this year.

Ermish’s main sponsor for this race is Supercuts and his secondary sponsors are Cook’s Collision and Meridian Speedway of Meridian, Idaho. Troy Ermish has recently teamed up with Meridian Speedway to be a mentor to many of Meridian’s young promising late model drivers. Davey Hamilton, Indy Racing League driver, will be mentoring the open wheel drivers and Troy Ermish will be mentoring the Late Model drivers. Meridian Speedway’s promoter, Kenny Hamilton, said he is “looking forward to working with Troy and Davey as a mentor for some of Meridian’s young drivers”.
