How many of you shop for auto parts on a weekly basis. If you do,I am sure you have your favorite place to shop. Last week I was parts chasing after work trying to get my pickup running and needed an electrical part. One of the people at NAPA even offered to bring me the part himself on his way home from work. I have found that most NAPA stores have good people with good parts knowledge and above average service. At a little after nine PM I needed another part so I could use my pickup for work the next day so my only option for parts was the local Auto-Zone across from the NAPA in Nampa. I had to get a ride to the store because otherwise I was on foot. I went in a about 9:30 and asked the guy at the counter for help. He said the other guy will help you. I told the other guy, I needed a fuel filter for a 87 GMC and after he looked it up he just said FF4405, I said "what", he just repeated "FF4405" then added "it's back there" while pointing to the backof the store. So I wandered to the back, looked for a few minutes and finaly found my filter and went to the front to pay and the first guy took my money and I left the store. I have never had such bad service and sullen attitudes from a so called parts professional. I have had much better service from all of the parts stores on 3rd street in Nampa. First in line is the NAPA with Auto Zone just across the street, then Car Quest a few blocks down and Schucks a few blocks more. I like having all four stores close together but I will only go to Auto ZOne after nine at night when all of the other choices are closed.
Take note Auto Zone. If you want to graduate from auto accessory and junk store to a full service parts store you better increase the quality of your people and service.
