Those who were at Meridian Speedway on Saturday, July 26 and witnessed the two wrecks and the two trips in the ambulances may be wondering about the condition of the two drivers involved.
Jim Todd is alive and well and was released after being looked at at the hospital. He said he had a concussion and felt "kinda goofy", and "sore but all in one piece" but, we "killed the car". They are planning on not rebuilding the car but will bring out a new one hopefully by September. I asked about a new color and Jim replied, "absolutely" and then added, "I'm way more superstitious than I used to be". When they unloaded the car off the trailer one of his sponsors brought a hammer and a wooden stake to finish the car off just in case it was possessed.
Jim's injuries were a concussion, and bruises to his sternum, knees, and ribs. He said it was the hardest hit he has ever taken.
I know there are a lot of fans that wish him well. If you are one of them why not post on this or one of the other message boards and let him know.

The other driver that was injured on Saturday night was Mini Stock driver Kyle Stradley; driver of the 38. I have not spoken to Kyle directly but according to another source that has spoken with him he has an injury to his wrist and it is bandaged up at the moment. The seriousness of the injury was not given. I understand though, that his fire suit was a total loss. The emergency room staff cut it off of him because they suspected a back or neck injury. (or maybe they always wanted to cut one of those off of someone and this was a good excuse) Kyle if you read this give me a call and I will update the information. I'm sure you have fans that would like to know. It scares the crap out of us when they bring out the back board before they shove you guys in the big blue and white box.
Update...
Kyle just called me a few minutes ago. His back and neck are OK but were swollen on Saturday night in the ER. He had a one piece suit so they had to cut it off of him. His right wrist and hand are still swollen and a break is not suspected but possible and will be checked again on Wednesday. He bent the crap out of the head rest in the racing seat and his hand got caught in the steering wheel and jammed his hand and wrist. He has strained or torn muscles in his back and neck which explains the swelling.
He added that his car is okay structurally but he needs some sheetmetal that he has available, so that is no problem. But he doesn't have a sponsor right now so he is in need of a new firesuit. XXL for a guy about 6 foot 3. Any sponsors out there.
Kyle stated that he will miss the next race because of Army National Guard drill weekend but should be back out for the one after that if he can get a suit or a sponsor.
