Kenny Hamilton is going to run the number 1 Late Model owned by TC and Justin Ellis on August 11.
I understand that Butch Gilliland is coming to town also and will be running with the Late Models. Gilliland will be driving a car borrowed from one of the locals but I can't remember which one. Butch Gilliland is the father of Cup driver David Gilliland. David Gilliland drives the 38 M&Ms car.
I have never seen Kenny Hamilton in a Late Model before so it should be interesting. Last week (July 21) was the first time I have seen Kenny in other than a Sprint. He ran a Grand American Modified and came in third in the 50 lap main event at Meridian Speedway.
I won't be missing this one.
August 11
Butch Gilliland seems like a rally nice guy and a clean driver. He was using Kale Freedmans number 55 with a 38 on it and finished in the middle of the pack somewhere. I under stand he is a local now and will be driving a late model at Meridian regularly in the future. Cool.
Kenny Hamilton was out driving a sprint car somewhere and did not drive the Ellis number 1 late model. I believe Dylan Caldwell did but I may need to verify this.
