So the time has come (and almost gone) to winterize your car. On my Hornet the winterizing has not included very much this year. I at least drained the radiator. My car has not had antifreeze in it for a couple of years so it is important to get enough of the water out to not cause problems. Just opening the drain plug does not get enough out of it. A previous owner did just that and the lower two tubes of the radiator froze and split so last year I removed the rad and kept it inside. This year I just removed it and shook out all of the water and left it standing upright on end. Both rad hoses were disconnected from the engine and then I removed the soft plug near the front of the engine and drained more water out. I think that this will be enough to keep any thing from freezing. I removed the battery and put it back in my other car where it belongs. Other than that I haven't done anything else to winterize the car.
So what other things do you readers suggest?
