As some of you may know Phyllip Zubizaretta's car was 170 pounds under weight after his Super Stock win at Meridian SPeedway on Saturday night August 11. His was not the first car, I'm sure, to be under weight after a race and won't be the last. Maybe it was a build up of frustration in not being able to be the best in any of the classes he has raced in this year but after the DQ he put his car up for sale (two cars actually) and quit racing at Meridian.
A month or two a ago another driver forgot to weigh in and was DQ'd. I understand he took it well. Any time you have competition you will have disputes. The measure of character is how you handle it. And if a dispute is handled poorly it is not too late to reconcile even it only one party decides to make the best of it.
It is a shame that the local speedway lost another driver. And a double shame that the Meridian Speedway "hate club and mutual admiration society" has been given some undeserved ammunition.
