Okay so most of these are already sewn up and predictions are more meaningful when done early in the season but here goes.
Meridian Speedway
Winged Sprints - Brandon johnson will win the championship (easy to guess that one). Sara Shaffer will get rookie of the year. RIght now she is just a very few points ahead of Jim Todd. Sierra Jackson will finish well but Kenny Hamilton will be a solid second.
Non Winged Sprints - With two races left to go Cory Lockwood will be ahead sometime (maybe just a partial night, like after qualifying or a heat race) but Johnny Giesler will slide home with the win for the Championship just ahead of Lockwood.
Mini Stocks - Jason Sanders, first, Kirk Sanders, second. Will be close - because Jason took a week off to play while Kirk stayed home and took care of business.
Super Stocks - Charlie Hamm Jr. to win it all. This race could be close if Hamm would just let up a little bit and let someone else have some fun. Actually I don't think letting up a bit would help. He would probably have to stay home. This one looks to be clinched but could, mathematically, still be open for Rick Baldwin 103 points behind. Then it would be close. (Sorry Charlie, I don't mean to sound like I'm not rooting for you)
Legends - Jimmy Gross has this one clinched. With a lead of 149 points there's no way unless he... No wait I can't think of any thing short of a DQ that could hurt him right now. Dennis Sonius may still come in second. After taking two races off to nurse a severely broken ankle and an almost as broken race car and then packing it in after 6 laps the last time out he is still second in points. Doyle Hartman in down by two for second place.
Grand American Modifieds - Tim Lawrence said "see ya later" some time back. It looks like he's just in it for the money now (if that can be said about any racer at this level) and he just comes out to play because he likes to be the big frog in a small pond. With a lead of 212 points and two races left to go he can just come out for the fun of it. He should keep one eye on Al Colwell and the other on Jeff Wurtz though, because at 468 points each they may not be watching any thing but each other. Oh Yeah, and lets not forget about Travis Milburn at 467 points in fourth. Flip a coin, push the start button on the blender, rock-paper-scissors, or what ever, the race for second will be unpredictable. Even so I predict Wurtz in second, with Colwell, third and Milburn, fourth.
More predictions later.
