Young ghosts and goblins will be able to haunt the pits at Meridian Speedway on Halloween in the annual Trunk or Treat presented by the Racers Support Committee.
The Trunk or Treat will take place from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 31. Admission is free.
Racecar drivers, crews and representatives from area businesses will be on hand to provide goodies for the trick-or-treaters. A contest will be held to select the best decorated car and the driver with the best costume. A similar contest will be held for businesses participating in the event. Organizer TC Ellis said that it’s free for businesses and racers to participate and that businesses also will be allowed to set up booths to promote themselves.
For details on how to get in on the fun, racers and businesses can call the Meridian Speedway office at (208) 888-2813 and ask for TC Ellis.
While the Trunk or Treat will go on as scheduled, the annual Halloween Bash Hornet Enduro 250 has been cancelled to make room for planned repairs and upgrades to get the paved quarter-mile in shape for the 2010 season.
