MERIDIAN, Idaho — Motorsports fans can see a little bit of everything, including destruction by Monster Truck, Saturday when Ron Duncombe brings the Maverik Trakker Monster Truck to ASA-sanctioned Meridian Speedway for Smash-o-Rama presented by Canyon Honda.
Duncombe will smash cars with the Maverik Monster Trakker as the centerpiece of a show that also will include a motorcycle demolition derby and a healthy dose of short-track racing before the evening closes with fireworks.
Racing divisions on tap include the Pepsi Sprintcars, College of Western Idaho Professional Truck Driving School Street Stocks, Tates Rents Hornets and the Thunder Dogs.
Tickets are $12 for adults, $9.50 for military personnel with IDs and senior citizens, $8 for children ages 7-11 and free for children 6 and younger. Advance tickets are available at participating Treasure Valley NAPA Auto Parts locations, eliminating the need to wait in line on Saturday night.
Gates open at 4 p.m. and racing starts at 6:30 p.m.
Duncombe is the host of Maverik’s Kick Start adventure reality show that appears locally on KTVB NewsChannel 7 and its cable sister television station 24-7.
He’s no stranger to pulse-pounding action on race courses. Duncombe got his start in BMX before moving on to a successful career in motocross. Later, he was the brakeman in wild train car races on a figure-8 track and then moved into Late Model Lites and his current racing passion, Ford Focus Midget cars.
