The racing was great over the weekend, it was my first time photographing them let alone watching them. I'm hooked. I had a chance to talk to a few of the drivers, to find out a little about what makes them tic. While walking the pits on Friday I stopped by Haily Hossfeld's tailer, she was sitting in the shade with a friend, she is a local out of Boise, she is a 16 year old Boise High student, she drives in the 500 open class cart # 31. She told me she started driving at the age of 8 years old. and loves it. she had a smile from ear to ear while we were talking. She qualified with a 11.494 she stayed in there with the guys in the heat race, I can see her at Meridian Speedway one of these days. On Saturday she was right in there again, in the B main later in the evening she had a real ride, when her number 31 car got tangled up with the 11t car of The photos tell the story, after she came to a stop, I ran over to see if she was ok it happened right in front of me. She was shaken up but once her brother, I believe came over and started to talk to her, what a motivator, she was ready to keep going, they wiped off her goggles, and off she went she kept her aggressiveness through the rest of the race. Congrates to Hailey for staying in there and showing just how tuff she is. The driver of the 11t cart was also okay.
