The IKF Gold Cup series came to The Treasure Valley on the Memorial Day weekend as The Snake River Karters hosted the series at the local track in Star, Idaho. While the weather threatened and made for a soggy Friday practice, races went under dry conditions all Saturday and Sunday. Competitors of all ages came from through out the U.S Northwest and Western Canada, competing in several junior and senior classes, featuring both 4 cycle and Rotax engines. Idaho racers claimed many of the top spots in the finals. Though not as long as some of the other tracks on the circuit, the challenging Glen Morgan track hosted several intense duels between these drivers. The next round of the Gold Cup race is June 10-12th in the Tri-Cities area. The Snake River Karters also host a local league with the next races June 27th/28th.
