Freezeout Hill Climb and Firebird on Google Earth

Hey this is cool. Check it out. I was surfing on Google Earth the other day and zoomed in to Freezeout Hill and noticed at the base of the hill where the old highway crosses the canal at the starting line there were a bunch of RVs and stuff and I thought "no way" don't tell me that out of 365 days of the year the sattellite passed the same day as the annual hill climb. That's a 1 in 182.5 chance. Way cool if you follow the road up the hill you can see on a couple of corners some vehicles where course workers/spotters have parked. No cars on the course and no one at the finish line yet. Looks like early in the morning and the racing hasn't started yet.

Then follow highway 16 south to Firebird raceway. The pits are full getting ready for a big event. May have been the fox hunt. More way cool stuff.

To find freezout hill have your Google Earth fly to Emmett Idaho. then travel south and find the road that looks like a snake just before the plateau.

WHen you find it log in and post.

If any body finds other cool race related stuff on Google Earth let us know.

I located my house and could see a black shape that must be my 86 Mustang SVO.

Thank you!

Good to know.
