MERIDIAN, Idaho -- Once Mike Murgoitio got on it, there wasn't much chance anyone would catch him.

MERIDIAN, Idaho — Race fans will get to double their fun this weekend at ASA-sanctioned Meridian Speedway with thrills on the track and in the sky.

The speedway will have back-to-back nights of racing action on Saturday and Sunday, capping everything on the Fourth of July when the City of Meridian presents the Fireworks Spectacular for a third year.

When you get up on Friday July 2nd at 6 or 7 (or even later for some of you lazy heads) Larry Gebert has already made a good start on his day. This Friday he is helping the Idaho Rally to promote the Rally 2010 coming up in two weeks as part of his news and weather show. He will be at the Expo Idaho in Boise at 4:30 AM to prepare for the show to start.

Brian Scott and John Dillon drive their Subaru WRX through the chicane in Rocky Bar, Idaho in 2008. They ended up winning the event after ten stages. The last four stages were run through Rocky Bar where the spectator area was located.

Those two names are famous among race fans in Idaho but these two guys are not the Brian Scott and John Dillon locals are familiar with. In certain racing circles they are famous just not famous for racing in circles. No left turn only and no door to door for them, they are teammates in one of North America’s best rally teams, Widget Racing.

Four wide... hey wait a minute, some one is facing the wrong way. Actually there was a lot of that on Wednesday in the 100 lap hornet race. Very fun to watch and it looks like no one got hurt. Some had broken cars.
