Meridian, Idaho – During the Thunder Stocks race at Meridian Speedway August 9, 2008, the bright orange number 94 car, nicknamed the Great Pumpkin, charged ahead and took over leaving the other nine cars in the dust. Grandview City Councilman, and part time race driver, Bill Lawrence, was behind the wheel of that hard charging race car.

The Late Models return to ASA Member, Meridian Speedway, on Saturday night. Les Schwab, Major Tire & Hitch, Trebar Kenworth, Geisler Automotive and J105 sponsored the six-event night featuring the returning Late Models, Non-winged Sprints, Street Stocks, Legends, Bandoleros, and Thunder Stocks.

Update on Colin Parker

Young Bandolero drivers, Blade Ince and Colin Parker, got together on the front stretch coming out of turn four and hit the front stretch wall side by side, head on. The safety crews rushed in to check on the drivers and assist them in climbing out. Ince climbed out, took off his HANS device and was OK but Parker had to be assisted by the paramedics. Parker was transported to St.

Note: Kenny Hamilton backed up his record from last week with quick time again 2 weeks in a row. Brandon Johnson qualified a little slower than usual (at least usual from last year) He said he is having trouble with this chassis. Not the same one from last year. Kenny Hamilton seems to be having very little trouble.
