FULL MOON TAKES TOLL

Marsing, Idaho – The second sprint boat race of the 2008 season at the Marsing Sprint Boat track was run on Saturday August 9. This race was not part of the United States Sprint Boat Racing Association schedule but with the quality of the event and the large number of local drivers most of the fans did not notice the lack of a sanctioning body.
Meridian, Idaho – During the Thunder Stocks race at Meridian Speedway August 9, 2008, the bright orange number 94 car, nicknamed the Great Pumpkin, charged ahead and took over leaving the other nine cars in the dust. Grandview City Councilman, and part time race driver, Bill Lawrence, was behind the wheel of that hard charging race car.
I just got a call from a friend attending the last round of the Nightfire Nationals at Firebird Raceway. There was a terrible crash in the last round of the Top Fuel drags. At about the halfway point in the race Brad Thomson, from California, in the right lane hit the wall to his right and then veered to the left and bounced off that wall.
LATE MODELS RETURN TO MERIDIAN SPEEDWAY

The Late Models return to ASA Member, Meridian Speedway, on Saturday night. Les Schwab, Major Tire & Hitch, Trebar Kenworth, Geisler Automotive and J105 sponsored the six-event night featuring the returning Late Models, Non-winged Sprints, Street Stocks, Legends, Bandoleros, and Thunder Stocks.
Young Bandolero drivers, Blade Ince and Colin Parker, got together on the front stretch coming out of turn four and hit the front stretch wall side by side, head on. The safety crews rushed in to check on the drivers and assist them in climbing out. Ince climbed out, took off his HANS device and was OK but Parker had to be assisted by the paramedics. Meridian Idaho – The Mini Stocks at ASA member track, Meridian Speedway, ran a 50 lap main event on Saturday night July 19, 2008. Meridian Speedway rewarded the Mini Stock drivers with the 50 lap main due to increased car counts so far this year.
